NIA, ATS Raid Deoghar, Detain Suspects in Arms Smuggling Probe
Dumka: A joint team of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Jharkhand Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Thursday raided two locations in Deoghar town and detained two suspects at the Town Police Station.Acting on the tip-off about alleged arms smuggling, the sleuths, with assistance from local police, raided a residential premises located at Nandi Nagar near Nandan Pahar under the Town Police Station limits and detained one, who was living in a relative’s house. Another youth was picked up from near Bhurbhura More, sources said.One of the detained suspects hails from Ara in Bihar. His father is reportedly employed as a driver with a private school in Deoghar and resides in Chitolodhiya area under the Kunda police station.Deoghar SP Praveen Pushkar said, “The district police assisted the agencies in the raids. Two individuals have been detained for questioning.”
